Walking down Hollywood walk of fame,a spot highly recommended by countless travel guides and locals. While the walk itself was pleasant and surprisingly uncrowded, and I spotted the stars of a few fa… Full review by Lina E

For me the Hollywood Walk of Fame and surrounding area was simply going to know that I've been to this iconic location I've seen so many times over the years in photographs and media. It was touristy… Full review by LarsieB

Honestly not worth it. Unless you have a burning desire to look at names on the floor it’s just very underwhelming. I know it’s part of the rich history of Los Angeles and more specifically, Hollywoo… Full review by Ant H
Is it just me or was the vibe different 10-15 yrs ago on the walk of fame? I recently went (April 2019) and most of the stretch consisted of smoke shops, bargain vendors, homeless folks, and druggies. Occasionally we spotted a hip coffee shop or restaurant. Even in front of Jimmy Kimmel, it seemed a tad sketch.

Snspatel, You are absolutely correct! I have been here two times now, and it is amazing, but very polluted. The smell of marijuana is so in your face these days! Safe travels.
How have you planned your visit to the Walk of Fame? Did you just do it on your own, or was it part of a tour package? If a tour, which tour package is the best and why? Thanks!

My husband and I did it on our own however about every 20 feet we where harassed by seemingly unlicensed vendors to go on a tour.. If not tour vendors people pushing cd’s or in cheap costumes conjoling a picture then demanding money. Some of the vendors where downright hostile. None of it seems legitimate and I wouldn’t recommend any of them! The “walk” is pretty easy, we weren’t looking for any stars in particular but if one was wanting that a map for that purpose it would be sufficient. The only place to visit and get a tour in my opinion would be the Chinese theatre.. Sadly most of the area/walk is in disrepair, dirty and blighted.. In St.Louis where I’m from we have our own version with celebrities that where born, raised, or lived in our city.. The delmar loop isn’t near as famous but is much more of a pleasant experience than Hollywood.. We visited several other places in the LA area that where much better.. Santa Monica is wonderful, Beverly Hills just to gawk at the beautiful homes, The Petersen automotive museum (even if you’re not a car geek) and the beaches are just amazing.. That’s just scratching the surface! Hope that helps :)
