An explosion ahead of a Fourth of July celebration at a Cape Cod country club has prompted officials to issue safety warnings around fireworks.

"I thought a plane hit the house because the house was literally shaking," said Hajjar. "There were another two or three booms after that, louder than the first one, so you could see that all the fireworks were gone. The flames were still 10, 15 feet high."

A possible fireworks explosion is under investigation in Mashpee Wednesday. The incident happened at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee. The golf course, located on 2 Red Brook Road, was scheduled to have a fireworks show at 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
