The Cowboys pulled off a blockbuster trade on NFL trade deadline day in acquiring a three-time Pro Bowler from the New York Jets.
It's likely that Davis will be re-signed to Dallas' practice squad. The move to part ways is to make roster room after the Cowboys traded for Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson and New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams prior to the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.
Both the Dallas Cowboys ' defensive overhaul and the New York Jets ' teardown continued Tuesday, with New York sending three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Quinnen Williams to Dallas in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round pick and defensive lineman Mazi Smith, as reported by CBS Sports senior NFL insider Jonathan Jones.

The Dallas Cowboys added Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams at the NFL trade deadline, but still need to fill a few more holes on defense.
The only notable hiccup for the Cardinals came when Pat O'Donnell had a punt blocked in the second quarter, leading to a Cowboys touchdown. Outside of that play, Dallas didn't do much offensively. Ryan Flournoy caught a late touchdown pass, but it only cut the deficit to 10 in the fourth quarter, and Dallas never got closer.
