Marc Guehi 'spat' with Oliver Glasner clarified amid Liverpool transfer interest
A spat between Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner and Liverpool transfer target Marc Guehi has been played down, according to reports. The Reds remain in talks with their Premier League rivals over a possible move for the 25-year-old central defender.
Virgil Van Dijk leaned on his experience to effectively defend open spaces with the absence of a true defensive midfielder ahead of the back four, but as the full-backs bombed on and the midfield was vacated, it was his Liverpool team-mate Ibrahima Konate who looked to struggle with the vast acres of Anfield grass he had to cover.
Guehi and Glasner, who have kept close communication throughout the summer despite the prospect of the 25-year-old leaving Selhurst Park, remain on good terms.
After captaining the Eagles in the Community Shield win over Liverpool last weekend, Guehi played the entirety of Palace's goalless draw at Chelsea. After the game, Glasner commended Guehi's professionalism alongside Eberechi Eze, who is wanted by Tottenham.
It has been revealed Crystal Palace hold a strong position when it comes to Marc Guehi and the future of the defender.
