Not long after announcing the closure of CosMc's spinoff restaurants, McDonald's has confirmed its legacy will live on with new menu items soon to be tested at locations across the country.
The chain announced it will roll out a line of crafted beverages at about 500 McDonald’s restaurants in the coming weeks. Among the lineup will be a Toasted Vanilla Frappe, Strawberry Watermelon Refresher, Sprite Lunar Splash, Popping Tropic Refresher and Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew. Other drinks are also planned, McDonald’s officials said.
The Daily Double features "two 100% beef patties, seasoned to perfection, and topped with melty American cheese, shredded lettuce, slivered onions, mayo and two juicy slices of tomato," McDonald's says.
Taco Bell has recently jumped on the trend with its line of fruity Refresca drinks, while KFC has launched a new “dirty soda” collaboration with Mountain Dew and Burger King has introduced a Frozen Cotton Candy drink for the summer.
The new drinks, five of which McDonad’s unveiled in its announcement, include cold coffees, specialty sodas, and fruity “refreshers.” Restaurants in Wisconsin, Colorado, and surrounding areas will test the beverages.
