Broncos trade Devaughn Vele to Saints
Digest more
The Saints announced they acquired wideout Devaughn Vele from the Denver Broncos on Wednesday, giving them a 6-foot-5, 210-pound target to help in the passing game. In exchange, the Saints traded a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round selection to the Broncos.
The Broncos may take it a bit easier in the preseason finale as many of the questions with this roster have likely been answered and they won't want to see any key players go down with injury. But even the second and third-team guys have looked good for the Broncos this summer, so the Saints quarterbacks could be in for a tough night.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton told reporters in his Thursday press conference that starters are set for 8-to-10 plays against the Saints. “That’s not just etched in stone — and then [we’ll] get into our second phase and third phase ,” Payton said. “I’ve said this each week, there’s still some real important decisions to be made.”
The Denver Broncos are set to close out their preseason against the New Orleans Saints and offered a key update involving Bo Nix.
The Saints need some protection behind Alvin Kamara, the Browns need a big-bodied option and the Chiefs have no depth behind Isiah Pacheco.
