MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Typhoon Man-yi left at least seven people dead in a landslide, destroyed houses and displaced large numbers of villagers before blowing away from the northern Philippines, worsening the crisis wreaked by multiple back-to-back storms, officials said Monday.

Families were trapped in their homes as flood from Super Typhoon Man-Yi started to rise in their street in the Philippines. Footage shows residents watching from their doors as the water filled the road outside in Catanduanes province on November 16 evening.

A super typhoon barreled toward the Philippines’ largest island on Sunday, as more than half a million people sought shelter from the latest in a string of powerful storms to threaten the country.
