Seven people are missing following a massive explosion at a warehouse in Esparto, Calif., that sent bright fireworks across the area and ignited a brush fire.

The Madre Fire ignited Wednesday afternoon in San Luis Obispo County and has since grown to more than 35,500 acres, according to Cal Fire.

A California wildfire that started on Wednesday afternoon continues to burn, having destroyed over 35,000 acres as of Thursday afternoon, with only a tiny portion contained.

The fire sparked in the Los Padres National Forest in San Luis Obispo County and was growing exponentially, officials warned. The area is mostly uninhabited.
