planets, 2025 parade
Digest more
Six planets are coming together in the sky in what’s known as a planetary parade, and you might be able to spot them on Saturday night. Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn will be visible to the naked eye if clear skies allow.
You'll be able to see Venus, Saturn and more without a telescope during this astronomical event.
“On most nights, weather permitting, you can spot at least one bright planet in the night sky,” NASA public engagement specialist Preston Dyches wrote in February 2025. “While two or three planets are commonly visible in the hours around sunset, occasionally four or five bright planets can be seen simultaneously with the naked eye.”
Hubble Space Telescope observations of white dwarf star G238-44 has shown that it is "consuming both rocky-metallic and icy material, the ingredients of planets," according to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.

NASA discovers massive ocean planet
NASA has identified an ocean covered planet about seventy percent larger than Earth. The planet completes a full orbit in just eleven days and sits roughly one hundred million light years away. Scientists say further studies are underway to learn more about this unusual world.
