A powerful winter storm is expected to bring up to 16 inches of snow and frigid temperatures to the NYC area, including parts of NJ and CT, this weekend.
A winter storm is headed to the Tri-State Area with heavy snow expected. New Yorkers could see 6-12 inches Saturday night into Monday.
A winter weather advisory runs from 1 p.m. Wednesday through 1 p.m. Thursday. Between 3 and 5 inches of snow is expected in that timeframe. Expect difficult travel conditions. Snowfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour are expected at times.
The National Weather Service is projecting anywhere from 6 to 18 inches, while AccuWeather’s forecast is more conservative, calling for 6 to 8 inches.
