The QVFb, or Qt Virtual Framebuffer, is a tool that makes it possible to run Qt applications on a virtual system with a limited screen resolution, limited bit-depth, and with limited input abilities.

By default slackware uses this VESA Framebuffer display thing that it passes to the kernel from lilo. This allows 1024x768 text which IMO is really nice.
