Applying the same formatting to each sheet in an Excel workbook is ideal when each of your sheets is set up the same, but it can be helpful in other circumstances as well.
As an example, suppose you have an Excel workbook that contains each student’s numerical course grades, but you would like a visual way to differentiate each student’s letter grade (A, B, C, D, or F).
Two categories should be red, two green, and seven yellow. I can do conditional formatting with a rule for each individual entry, but that's incredibly cumbersome.
