Apple has priced an iPhone XR repair at a similar level to the iPhone 8 Plus, which seems a fair basis given that both models share a larger LCD screen.
On Monday, Apple added the iPhone XR to its iPhone service pricing support page. According to the site, it costs $199 (or £196.44 and AU$318.95) to repair a broken iPhone XR screen through Apple.
For example, the iPhone XS, which features a more advanced OLED display, costs $279 for a screen repair, significantly higher than the $199 for the iPhone XR’s LCD screen.
Apple’s iPhone XR comes out this week and ahead of the launch, Apple unveiled the repair costs. A screen fix will cost $199 while “other damage” costs $399.
If the screen cracks on an iPhone XR, for example, the repair fee with AppleCare+ is up to $178, savings of at least $21.
