Aqara, a provider of smart home solutions, has announced the availability of the Motion and Light Sensor P2, its new generation motion sensor built upon the Thread protocol and the Matter standard.

The new Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 supports Thread for the first time in an Aqara motion sensor on top of Matter support for HomeKit.

Eve’s new smart home motion sensor works with Apple HomeKit out of the box and is expected to be upgraded to Matter when the smart home standard arrives later this year.
