Microsoft is removing WordPad from Windows after nearly 30 years WordPad first shipped as part of Windows 95, but it’s being removed in a future release of Windows.
Microsoft has added bold, italics, lists, hyperlinks, and even Markdown to the Windows Notepad app, making it look more and more like the now-defunct WordPad.
