The College Football Playoff announced that it will use an "enhanced" tool to further emphasize strength of schedule in its selection process, starting in 2025. The new metric -- titled record strength -- will give further credit to how a team performs against its schedule.

Heading into the 2025 college football season, these teams have statistically the toughest schedules. While a lot can change between now and the end of the year, here is why these schools may get the benefit of the doubt more from the Selection Committee.
