Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Shohei Ohtani is taking it slow this spring, after undergoing surgery. He took his first batting session Sunday.

Amid dueling rehabilitation schedules, Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani took batting practice on Sunday for the first time since offseason shoulder surgery for an injury that occurred during the World Series in October.

With four games already in the books, the Dodgers begin their first full week of Cactus League play on Monday. It’s a week that will likely feature the game debuts of Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith after rehabbing injuries.
