SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - International Paper has announced that it will close its locations in Savannah and Riceboro.

The Savannah and Riceboro closures came as part of a series of "strategic changes to achieve an advantaged cost position," the press release said.

International Paper will close mills in Alabama and Georgia that will lead to layoffs of more than 1,000 employees.
