The girls, ages 8 to 14, were stuck for hours on the rocky island until they could be airlifted off by a rescue team from Traverse City.

The paddleboarders, ages 8, 10, 13 and 14, reportedly became stranded on an island after they lost their paddles.

SILVER BAY, Minnesota (WJW) – The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four young girls who were stranded on a rock on Lake Superior over the weekend. Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Minnesota responded to an emergency call near Black Beach in Silver Bay just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.
