"Good trouble" is a term coined by the late U.S. Rep. John Lewis, and July 17 will mark five years since his death, the movement's website states.

The gatherings invoked the Civil Rights leader’s memory while offering another venue for groups protesting the Trump administration this year.

Deidra Reese, an activist and member of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, told The Dispatch that the goal of the demonstration was to "remind folks that there are people out there who care." Reese also said the collective believes in Lewis' legacy as a fierce advocate for civil rights for all people.
