Shedeur Sanders arrived at Cleveland Browns training camp determined to compete and instead watched as veteran quarterback Joe Flacco formally secured the starting job for Week 1.

Joe Flacco will be the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback to begin the 2025 campaign. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski named Flacco the starter for the team's Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals over Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett all could have brighter futures. But 40-year-old Flacco is still more dependable today.
