The New York City mayor's race candidates honed in on fighting crime and prostitution after the mass shooting took quality of life issues front and center.

Law enforcement officials say a shooter or shooters opened fire with multiple weapons at Taste of the City Lounge in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights.

Multiple individuals were transported to local hospitals. However, their conditions were not immediately released.

The police commissioner identified the second gunman killed in the shooting early Sunday as Marvin St. Louis, 19, a Brooklyn resident with no known criminal record. Police said a third man shot dead, Amadou Diallo, 27, of Manhattan, was an innocent bystander inside the club.

He always brought candy to my kids,” stray bullet victim Amadou Diallo’s sister said. “They loved him like he was their own father.”

The three victims were identified by police as 35-year-old Jamel Childs, 27-year-old Amadou Diallo and 19-year-old Marvin St. Louis. WABC-TV's Crystal Cranmore reports.
