Around 11 p.m., people were exiting a venue in the River North neighborhood and standing on the sidewalk when a vehicle pulled up and someone in the car opened fire on the crowd, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said at a news conference.

Four people were killed and 14 more were hospitalized in a drive-by mass shooting late on Wednesday, July 2, police in Chicago said. Three of the victims are in critical condition. Someone opened fire into a crowd standing outside a venue in Chicago's River North neighborhood at about 11 p.m., police said, and the black SUV immediately drove away.

The Rochester Police Department says officers were dispatched to an apartment building on the 1000 block of 41st Street Northwest. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot outside the apartment complex.
