Raigad-based wildlife researcher and photographer Shantanu Kuveskar recently documented Indian Ocean Humpback Dolphins off the Raigad coast during a weekend fishing trip. Known to frequent Maharashtra’s shallow coastal waters, these dolphins are occasionally spotted by fishermen and tourists, though experts say sightings are not very frequent. DOLPHINS PLAY 'OCCY HOCKEY' 🐙🐬 The team at the Dolphin Discovery Centre (DDC) have caught Bunbury's dolphins tossing octopus in an interesting act of hunting behaviour. According to the Centre, dolphins scan rock walls and octopus habitat using a mix of eyesight and echolocation. Once caught, they then toss the octopus until it is safe to eat. It's a behaviour that must be done quickly though, as the DDC says octopus can suffocate dolphins by putting their tentacles into the dolphins' blowhole
