Did you know “Christ” is not Jesus’s last name? Jesus didn’t have a last name. “Christ” is a title. It means “Messiah,” or “Anointed One.” Jesus is THE Christ and Lord that the Jews long awaited to come. He was the King, but his kingdom would extend to the whole world and both heaven and earth. Instead, Jesus would have been known by his father’s name or his hometown or even his profession. That’s why he is called Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus the Nazarene in the Bible. Or Jesus, the son of Joseph.
