Researchers from UNSW Science and UNSW Medicine & Health are finding out more and more about the Acanthamoeba, a microorganism that can cause the extremely rare but potentially sight-threatening eye infection, Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK). Acanthamoeba, which has been found in seawater in sites across NSW, is particularly worrying for people who wear contact lenses.
