To combat contraband within and outside GDC facilities, @Ga_Corrections Interdiction Response Team (IRT) and Tactical Squads, alongside the Office of Professional Standards (OPS), carried out 131 facility shakedowns in calendar year 2024. During the same period, the GDC K9 Unit conducted 280 separate shakedowns.
