The platypus is a truly unique, egg-laying mammal found in Australia. With its duck-like bill, webbed feet, and beaver-like tail, it looks like a mix of different animals but is perfectly adapted for life in the water. It’s a skilled swimmer and uses electroreception to hunt underwater with incredible accuracy. Male platypuses also have venomous spurs on their hind legs that can deliver a painful sting. As if they weren’t already adorable, platypuses sometimes make soft, snore-like sounds while
